Exhibitions
After being burrowed away all winter working on my children's novel, I am glad to emerge into the sun. Writing has been taking up a lot of my time, but I am also presenting artwork at a couple of events in the Glasgow area this spring. My good friend and talented artist Veronica Matthew invited me to exhibit paintings and glass art alongside her stunning enamel pieces at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre, 730 Great Western Road.
The exhibition, called "Fired By Colour", will run from Saturday, May 31 through Saturday, June 8, from 11am to 4 pm daily. Original works will be on sale, as well as greeting cards and prints. I will be on hand as much of the week as I can and I would love to meet visitors.
On Sunday June 15, I will be at the Milngavie Book & Arts Festival leading two children's bookmaking workshops and greeting people at my artist's stall. I will have cards, notebooks, prints and original art for sale. The Festival runs from June 14-21.
On May 10 and 11, Parade Artists, a collective of artists and craftspeople based at the WASPS Factory, will hold a spring exhibition and sale. It will be well worth visiting!
Books
I am pleased to announce that I will have a story published this summer! To celebrate the National Year of Reading, Scholastic Children's Books will publish a book containing 366 stories, each told in just 366 words, because this is a Leap Year. Sales of the book will benefit the NSPCC. Check back here over the summer for further news.
Enjoy spring!
