Hi Damir,

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you found my post about the Dunure labyrinth. I was told that it was built by local people as part of the celebration of the Millennium. It must be one of the most beautiful locations for a sun labyrinth!

Your website is very nice (I like the labyrinth temporary tattoos!). It's great to know there is a network of people around the world who are interested in labyrinths!

Best wishes,
Teresa

Hi Teresa,
I recently stumbeled upon a photo of Dunure labyrinth so I found your site. I was very surprised to see the Sun labyrinth there.
I'm glad you found walking the labyrinth blissfull. It almost always is. You can check out my celestial labyrinths web page.
Do you know who built the labyrinth? And why?
Best regards from Croatia.

Thank you, Martha, for pointing out my mistake in identifying the church! Of course you are correct and I am more experienced in Helsinki now. :) Alas, I won't be here when the lilacs bloom! I will have to be satisfied with the crocus. But I have enjoyed this push and pull of spring, with snow one day and melting the next. By the way, I will post very soon about Pasila Library, which is wonderful!

Sounds like you're in for a great time. Are you you planning to visit the main Helsinnki Central Library in Pasila. http://www.lib.hel.fi/en-GB/pasila/

That was brand new when I lived in Helsinki in the late 19990's. It was one of the most user friendly libraies I have ever enjoyed. Without bragging I think Helsinki has one of the world's finest library systems in the world.

I'm glad you're enjoying Helsinki. Don't loose heart. Spring does come and the lilacs on Suomenlinna (Some bushes said to be over 100 years old) are hypnotically beautiful.

A tiny correction: the white church tower you see behind the Viking line ships is the Lutheren Cathedral. The Orthodox Uspensky - directly behind the ships and not visible in your photo is built of red brick. All of the island that it's on, Katajanokka - is a fascinating museum of Jugend style archictecture. Go & have a walkaround when you get a minute.
